A Platinum LEED certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) was awarded to the Water + Life Museums, which comprise the Center for Water Education and the Western Center for Archeology and Paleontology, designed and constructed by Los Angeles-based Lehrer + Gangi Design + Build.

The complex is the first museum building to secure a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating, the highest bestowed by the USGBC.  The award is doubly impressive, as the 70,000-square-foot museum complex met the most exacting green standards (including those regarding energy and water consumption), despite the harsh desert environment of Hemet, where triple-digit summer heat is the norm, but where water can freeze in winter.

The featured housing block is situated at the edge of a housing development that projects the construction of 650 apartments. After construction, the design was acquired by the Slovenian Housing Fund and will be replicated in other developments.

With a rich interplay of small volumes of different material interlocking throughout the elevations, many people associated them to Tetris game. And so the building got its name.

Hof is a new country residence in the Skakafjörður fjord, less than 100km from the Arctic Circle in Iceland.

The spectacle of the location, its remoteness and special program fuelled a unique rapport between the client, contractor and architect resulting in a building that is in every respect a direct consequence of that collaboration.

STUDIOS was selected by the City of San Jose to design the Evergreen Branch Library, part of a public bond-funded group of city branch libraries.

The architecture of the new one-story library—which is sited adjacent to a public park amid a largely residential area—conveys a distinct civic presence without disrupting the scale of neighboring structures. A pronounced canopy supported by a large concrete column marks the building’s entryway.

The Deloitte Headquarters is Denmark’s largest open office building. Designed by 3XN, it is situated opposite the recreational area of Stadsgraven waters by Langebro, close to city, Ørestad and the Metro.

A common urban masterplan controls three buildings, of which Deloitte is the largest. They present themselves as solitary volumes on the edge between land and water.

TEHAMA GRASSHOPPER.jpg

This house, located in San Francisco, California. provides a surprising integration of old and new elements, of competing urban forces, brings the remodeled warehouse alive.

Three stories of interlocked spaces have distinct personalities and functions: office, main living area, and penthouse. The rigidity of the original concrete structure is broken down in a subtle interplay of light, surfaces, levels, and indoor and outdoor spaces—making the urban living experience as richly textured as the city itself.

Regeneration embodies the sequences of devastation, survival, rebirth, adaptation and life. In war, nature—comprising the land and the human spirit nurtured thereon—is ravaged and seemingly destroyed.

Miraculously and somehow inevitably, however, nature survives and regenerates as the power of life prevails. It is this process of regeneration and healing that nourishes and rekindles human hope, faith and courage.

Located in the Ottawa, Canada, the project's conception is a joint venture between Moriyama & Teshima Architects and  Griffiths Rankin Cook Architects.

One of the hardest and most challenging tasks for an architect designing a house is to take an existing project and transforming it into a house that is geared towards a more contemporary lifestyle.

With Casa AV, BGP arquitectura has been able to achieve great results in redesigning of a house from the 70’s of no significant architectural value and located in front of one of the most important avenues of Mexico City.

What is most impressive is the fact that, due to a retrained budget, the original structure was kept intact.

This impressive project is located in TianJin, a city perched on the estuary of The Haihe River, and considered as the eastern gate of Beijing in China.

The city, which has a rich history that goes back for several centuries, contemplates the future with high expectations and infinite boundaries.
