Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater Revisited Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 September 2007 03:01

If I need to describe ‘Fallingwater’ in two words I would say ‘Pure Poetry’. it stands out as one of the greatest works in Modern Architecture. Blending with the gorgeous surroundings, its cantilevers floating over the landscape. Frank Lloyd Wright composes with his palette of building material mixing natural stone, concrete and glass to produce this perfect house. The interior design of the house is a natural complement of the exterior reinforcing its concepts. No wonder that ever since it was built, it has been an inspiration to countless Architects.
This Youtube Video features the house and talk about its History. It also includes an interview with current owner. Quite enjoyable.

We are complementing that article with an interview with the Architect about his ideas on the project.

Q.    How did you come up with the idea behind the Dancing T’s?

S.H. The process started with a period of several weeks in which I carefully studied the program, urban constraints, landscape, sunset, precious Scandinavian sky which was followed by a period of reflection. Then one morning I intuitively started to make sketches that were inspired by these studies and reflections.
