Recipient of the RIBA Award 2007, the new Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art gallery building and adjoining Public Square are part of the redevelopment of the town centre in Middlesbrough, in the UK, a community of approximately 150,000 inhabitants in the North East of England, serving as commercial and cultural centre for an area of about 650,000 people.
With the aim to create ‘economic success and cultural diversity’ Middlesbrough’s redevelopment focused on the attraction of leisure and retail facilities, the redesign of major streets and, as a key project, the redevelopment of Middlesbrough’s central Victoria Square, including the new art gallery.

USC Campus Addition Encourages Collaboration in Cancer Research
The Harlyne J. Norris Research Tower (HNRT), designed by leading healthcare architecture firm Lee, Burkhart, Liu, Inc. (LBL), provides scientists with flexible lab spaces, while fulfilling the mandate to foster collaboration between the university researchers and private industry. HNRT is the third addition to the existing Norris Cancer Center, located within the Health and Sciences campus at the University of Southern California (USC).
“By providing ample amounts of engaging space, HNRT was designed to
create a change in the culture of cancer research, to promote
partnerships among the university researchers and private-sector
professionals,” states Erich Burkhart, AIA, Principal of Los
Angeles-based LBL.

Located in Kent New York, this gorgeous house by Resolution: 4 Architecture displays an intricate interplay of volumes that is well enhanced by a judicious selection of materials that helps it to delicately blend in its natural surrounding.
The house reserves its visitors a delightful surprise at every corner and the richness of the external enclosure is nicely complemented with the richness of the internal spaces.

The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (shortened to Perimeter Institute or simply PI) is an independent, resident-based research institute devoted to foundational issues in theoretical physics.
Riding the controversial line between public and private space, this private research institute attempts to subvert the usual hard thresholds established by private enterprise in the public realm.
