Architectural River Cruise
CAF-certified expert docents interpret the world-class architecture along the Chicago River. A 90-minute narrated river cruise, with commentary on more than 50 architecturally significant sites, all from the perspective of the river. Runs through November 23.
Roots of Reform Bus Tour:
This tour highlights efforts among women and minorities to improve Chicago’s urban condition. Tours are scheduled for select Thursdays and Sundays, June through September and depart from CAF, 224 S. Michigan Avenue.
Highlights by Bus:
This three and a half hour bus tour highlights Chicago’s wide range of architectural influence and design, and covers 30 miles of the city including: the Loop, Hyde Park, the Gold Coast, several historic districts, university campus’, parks, and residential neighborhoods. The tour features an interior tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, as well as Mies van der Rohe’s IIT campus and the Rookery in downtown Chicago. The interior tour of the Robie House is given by the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30am.

Louis Sullivan: Lost & Found:
This tour explores the concentration Louis Sullivan’s work in the Loop,
both standing and fallen. CAF, in cooperation with the Art Institute of
Chicago, will trace Sullivan’s career and reveal his philosophy through
surviving works, fragments, and relevant sites in the city center that
was home for his entire professional life. Wednesdays 2:30pm, Thursdays
5:30pm and Saturdays 10:30am.
