When: May 27-29, 2009
Initiated in 2004, the Atlantic Seniors Housing Research Alliance (ASHRA) is a 5-year, federally funded project that encompasses all four Atlantic Provinces and includes representatives from five universities, seniors’ groups and other community-based organizations, housing developers and planners, service providers, and government departments. People: How can we understand and prepare for the changing housing needs of aging Atlantic Canadians? Places: How can building design and technology help people to age within their familiar communities? Policies: How can policy, rules, and regulations ensure access to safe, and affordable housing for seniors? The Conference will include workshops that are set up to assist participants with examining policy barriers, and to facilitate the development of recommendations and policy solutions designed to meet seniors' housing needs. Organized in parallel with this conference is a Design competition on affordable Senors housing. Trackback(0)
