 Based in Danemark, 3XN is owned by six partners: Kim Herforth Nielsen, Jan Ammundsen, Bo Boje Larsen (Dep. Copenhagen). Kim Christiansen, Tommy Bruun and Michael Kruse (Dep. Aarhus).
Architect MAA RIBA Kim Herforth Nielsen, founder of 3XN, is Principal Architect. Kim Herforth Nielsen holds full architectural responsibility for all 3XN products from original concept to turnkey building. Kim has been a main driving force in 3XN's 20 years of history, with projects like the Royal Danish Embassy in Berlin; the Architects' Building in Copenhagen, the Music Building in Amsterdam, Ørestad College and the upcoming Museum of Liverpool in his port folio. Kim is honoured with the Danish Knight's Cross and the Eckersberg Medaille. He is judge in the Danish Architectural Association's competitions, sat in the AR Emerging Architects Award 2006 jury and is a frequent lecturer at architects' schools, universities etc. world wide. Architect MAA Jan Ammundsen was educated from the Århus School of Architecture. Jan is partner in 3XN since 2007. He is Head of 3XN's Competition Dept. Copenhagen and managed several 1. prize competitions such as the Middelfart Savings Bank, Horsens Stadium, Bella Hotels and residences in Bjørvika, Oslo. Jan came to 3XN in 2005. Architect MAA Bo Boje Larsen is Managing Director with main responsibility for strategy, organization and the Copenhagen office. Bo Boje Larsen stepped in as partner in 3XN 2003 after 10 years of management at the Henning Larsens Tegnestue. Of these he worked the last 7 years as chief architect and managing director. Bo has worked with all aspects of the architectural business; competitions, preliminary sketching, projecting, documentation, supervision, construction management, project management - including project management of very large projects such as the Copenhagen Opera. At 3XN, Bo managed projects like the Tivoli Concert Hall and the Saxo Bank Headquarters. Bo's experience covers all types of buildings - residences, culture, education, hospitals, laboratories, administration etc. Architect MAA Kim Christiansen is CEO, partner since 2000. Architect at 3XN since 1994. Kim Christiansen is responsible for all economical and contractual relationships with clients and cooperating partners. Internally, Kim holds overall responsibility for projecting, documentation and quality assurance as well as planning and Human Resources. Kim Christiansen is based in the Aarhus office. Architect MAA Tommy Bruun was educated from the Aarhus School of Architecture. He came to 3XN in 1999 and is partner in 3XN since 2007. Tommy is Head of 3XN's Competition Dept. Aarhus together with Michael Kruse and managed competitions such as the Warsaw museum of Modern Art, Tangen Polytechnic in kristiansand, NO; The Yangpu Gateway Buildings, Shanghai, and the Ørestad College in Copenhagen. Architect MAA Michael Kruse was educated from the Aarhus Schoool of Architecture. Michael came to 3XN 2002 from David Chipperfield's office and is partner in 3XN since 2007. He is Head of 3XN's Competition Dept. Aarhus together with Tommy Brun and managed competitions such as the Museum of Liverpool, the Ørestad College and the project Light*house at the Århus HArbour front.
