The grey colour of the concrete dominates this 1.500m2 (16,000 sq ft) luxurious residence. It solidifies the building, bringing a sharp contrast with the surrounding landscape. Large openings puncture the concrete mass, making the most of the house’s surrounding view.

FALLINGWATER Edited by Lynda Waggoner
The shape of the 2-storey residence follows the site’s natural slope. The main access to the house is at the upper level. This 653m2 (700 sq ft) floor is subdivided in three parts: a family common area (lounge, dining room, kitchen, office, a children play room…); a more private family area consisting of four bedrooms suites, and a third part described by the architect as ‘free time and relaxation area’ opened to the external garden and swimming pool through a wide porch. The ground floor includes a gymnasium, wine vault, cleaning rooms and service area. The architects forced the interaction of the house’s interior with the surrounding gardens through several patios, creating luminous and enjoyable spaces. The combination of concrete, glass, and dark tainted wood gives the residence its esthetical attributes
In the exterior the overflowing swimming pool of 45m2 stands out as one of the house’s main features. It is complemented by a summer dining room and a relaxing area covered by a movable pergola.
