The house is sited within the scenic surroundings, in the Dinner Plain, Victoria overlooking Mount Hotham. It integrates itself to the neighboring landscape, through use of natural material, locally available and that has traditionally been used local construction.
The house embraces in its shape the typological archetypes traditionally used by country-men and cowboys that lived in the area. A combination of stone, wood and metal was used both for structure and finish.
The project has been designed to provide a comfortable seasonal dwelling, utilized both during summer and winter. It is conceived to provide its habitants an appreciation natural environment surrounding them. Numerous glazed frames were inserted in key location, granting a generous view to the outside. This merge between internal and external space becomes the conceptual core of the design.

The ground level, dedicated for everyday life, overlooking the garden through a glazed frame that opens onto a deck. The more private second floor, integrates two bedrooms, including a master bedroom with bathroom and spa.
As the designer states: ”‘Under the Moonlight’ House has been designed with care in order to prevent damage to local vegetation and trees. Roof is made out of insulated metal and accomplishes with functionality of any climate. Its brownish color matches well chromatic shades of Natural Reserve.”
