Designing the new building for Lavaal’s offices was a good occasion for the architects to research his own interpretation of a contemporary office building. The work environment, conditions, and expectations are continually changing and according to Giovanni Vaccarini, the mutation is not in the future, it just belongs to the present.
A system of movable partitions has allowed for multifunction spaces. the workplace becomes a flexible environment capable to adapt to the needs ever-changing needs of the users.
The layout of the different zones within the plan is reflected in the treatment of the outside elevation. Public spaces receive transparent structural glass that allows the view from the outside looking in. The working offices have floor to ceiling fenestration with brise-soleil that controls the light coming inside the offices.
Overall the building reflect Vaccarini's architectural style as seen in other projects. We depict typical detail such as the small circular windows and the interplay of wooden panels and glass, within a modern dynamic enclosure.
