The project is an advertising  agency situated in the ‘Jardins’, a São Paulo neighborhood that is undergoing radical change, on an avenue of intense traffic. Facing north, it appears as an organic incarnation of the urban and natural “aggressions” suffered by the tropical city.

The noise, the insulation and the intense traffic are building components that get infused in this project. Rather than isolating itself from the noise and movement surrounding it, it absorbs the neighboring energy, and uses it to define its identity, sending the energy back as in a boomerang effect.

Tryptique_Rua_Colombia_14Tryptique_Rua_Colombia_10The connectivity between the building and the street, originates from the dematerialized composition of the facade: the wooden filter, forms an organic membrane that reflects and follows the flux of the cars. Beyond its original purpose as an insular protection, the façade assumes two opposing roles, providing the building to some privacy, the openings between the solid strips allow the public eye to get a glimpse of the activities happening inside the building.
Tryptique_Rua_Colombia_05The building looks at the city, subtly revealing its interior through a sequence of vertically superposed filters. The plug, the filters and the frontal glass walls connect the internal and the external spaces, while in the rear façade, double opaque glass windows alternate with simple transparent plates that create a beguiling visual game of transparencies that light up the project, and connect the interior part with the exterior.

This visual and sensorial fluidity reflects the strong interaction between the public and private. People passing by can connect and feel the internal energy of the building. The connection is reinforced by the entrance doors surrounded by a concrete frame, intended as a bridge between the external and internal urban space, inviting people to the come inside.
