Interesting project from Ofis Arhitekti in Borisov, Belarus. Construction for this Football (Soccer) stadium will be starting at the end of this year and the opening is expected in 2012, when the City of Borisov celebrates a significant anniversary.

The original program required a spatial distribution that takes advantage of the natural attributes of the surrounding location, while minimizing the intervention on the terrain and conserving most of existing trees on the site. Still according to the program, the stadium should have 13.000 seats with an additional 3.000m2 of public space. Traffic organization to provide controlled / separate access during the match and in everyday use.
The appearance of the complex bears a strong importance. Intended as a landmark well viewed from all angles while sitting on soft greenery. The stadium is therefore have to have its own, distinctive modern character based on environmental and user friendly approach. Ofis Arhitekti gave the stadium arena the monolithic form of a rounded dome. Despite its moderate size, it gives an impression of a dominant landmark. Internally, the rounded shape provides the arena with improved acoustics, and contributes to a more intense atmosphere during the game for both the players and the fans.
The stadium is surrounded with generous pedestrian areas for meeting before or after the games. Parking lots are organized sporadically and hidden into the existing forest. These parking lots should be used, when no games are being played, for skating, rollerblading, carting etc...
