Vigilius Mountain Resort is a 5-star hotel (35 rooms, 6 suites, 2 restaurants, a library, lounge, conference room, spa set over 3 levels with a pool) which interacts with surrounding nature. San Vigilio, near Merano, stand along the Valle dell’Adige 1500 metres above sea level. One of the world’s first cable cars was built in 1913 to get to San Vigilio.
Nowadays Vigilius Mountain Resort, an extension to the old Vigiljoch Hotel, can still only be reached by cable car or on foot, just one special feature of the special way it interacts with surrounding nature.

This Hugo Boss store is located in the Meatpacking district, New York. It brings together four of the HUGO brands together, creating a complete look at the brand. The architects wanted a shop that “mixes together urban surfaces, the texture of art, concrete and iron and pouring everything inside to state its own naked aesthetics into the spirit of the place”.
The interior is enveloped in a diamond-shaped pattern of wooden planks; a distinctive element that Thun had already used as a cover for Boss’s headquarters in Switzerland.

This office building rises from its surroundings with a distinctive
exterior; a shell structure of intertwined wooden elements, covering a
transparent structure of glass and steel. Transparency and lightness make the essential ingredients of the formal concept.
The bended wooden diamond elements, sprouting from balconies, enter in
a dialogue with the textile membrane that helps the building integrate
in the surrounding landscape and protects the construction from bad
weather conditions and excessive exposure to the sun.
Natural illumination penetrates the building from all sides and
enhances the visual impact of the internal volumes, the different
textures and materials that are used, guaranteeing a crisp visual
cleanliness.

"The wooden beacons" is an installation by Architect Matteo Thun and the Fashion House Marni: a talking point about life cycle rhythm. A process of managing the entire life cycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture. "The wooden beacons" is a dialogue between two creative worlds: architecture and fashion. Hardware and software. The mix of raw and soft elements as a demonstration of life cycle management. Interni Think Tank as a part of the FuoriSalone 2010 is the ideal platform to convey this idea.
