You might have read on our web site the 2010 crop of great projects that had won this prestigeous award, but today the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE) is calling for submission of Projects showcase excellence in sustainable design principles and reduced energy consumption for 2011. The COTE Top Ten Green Projects awards program recognizes the benefits of sustainable design and acknowledge architects as leaders in the creation of environmentally responsible design solutions. COTE encourages architects and their teams to submit projects for the Top Ten design competition. Now in its 15th year, the program is one of the best known sustainable design recognition programs in the nation. Winning projects will be recognized with an AIA/COTE award certificate and acknowledged in the national press, on the AIA Web site, and at the AIA National Convention in New Orleans May 12-14, 2011. Projects may be located anywhere in the world, but must have been designed by an architect licensed in the United States. Projects must be built and completed after 2001. Schedule: January 24, 2011 - Registration and submission deadline February 2011 - A technical review team will review the entries. Submitters may be asked to clarify or provide additional information April 2011 - Notification of the jury decision May 12 – 14, 2011 - Exhibition of award recipients will be exhibited at the AIA National Convention and Design Expo in New Orleans Registration forms and other vital information can be accessed here. |
